DVD43 4.4.1

DVD43 by DVD43Free Screenshot DVD43 Screenshot

DVD43 is a free DVD decrypter that runs in the background and decrypts DVDs on the fly. It will decrypt (unlock) a movie DVD so that your copy program can read it. It is a pure decrypter, it does not alter the image of the original DVD and will not remove copy protection (other than CSS encryption) added to the DVD. If the DVD structure is non standard or the DVD contains bad sectors, your copy program needs to take care of that.

I've used DVD43 for several yeras, first with WindowsXP then with Vista, and I've had virtually nothing but success with it. Now I have just upgraded the OS to Windows7, and see that DVD43 does not work on a 64-bit system. Any idea when it will, or what other program would be a good substitute for it until it can be run on a 64-bit system?

I had similar probs to other reviewers/discussions, with computer lock-ups. I run XP and used Nero Showtime to copy a dvd. Dvd43 dealt with copy protection and Nero copied an image successfully but then locked up about halfway through the burn process. I tried this several times with the same results. I then repeated the process, but this time I uninstalled Dvd43 (using Revo Uninstaller) after Nero had copied an image but BEFORE Nero burnt the blank dvd - and this worked. This may indicate Dvd43 is somehow interfering with Nero's burn process. It just means installing/uninstalling Dvd43 each time I want to copy a dvd, strictly for back-up purposes of course.

I just recently started using dvd43. Its been working good for me untill now. I've been trying to make backup copies for 2 new movies & its tellin me that it can't read file. Even if the little face is green. I've been trying all day. I wasted 3 blanks. I read somewhere on a review that it doesn't work on sony or pairamont movies. That's bull! What dicrypter might work better?

I had mostly no problems with most DVDs except for Casino Royale, could not ever break the decryption and errored out each time. If someone can look at this and respond I'd like to hear the outcome.. But for 90+% of DVDs Ihad success.. It'd be nice to see why the newer DVD had issues.. Will this be something that will affect all DVDs from this point forward..

I have been using DVD43 for many years now. And I found a way enabling you not to make anymore dvd coasters!!! (failed copies) After you copy the movie, and BEFORE you load the blank dvd...click on DVD43 and EXIT it BEFORE putting in your blank dvd!!!! DVD43 doesn't need to check a blank DVD, so disable it, and you shouldn't have any more problems. I have been doing this for months now and no more coasters.

DVD43 is great, except for some new movies and Disney movies. When all else fails, try 'Handbreak' it's free, and will rip a movie at it's very core. It will do it to a file, make sure it's a MP4, then use Nero Vision or DVD Flick(free) to burn to DVD. I've used this method to backup some of my daughters Disney movies, which normally will not be copied by anything. Find out more at www.hobstarcs.wikidot.com
