"Only one floor" It only wasted an hour or two of my time ONE FLOOR ONLY. NO SPLIT LEVELS but it has 2 types of stairs (apparently leading nowhere) A joke. Stairs and spiral stairs but only one floor - even in the fully paid for version.

"Nice application" Easy to install and use. User friendly. Experiencing lags when adjusting camera view. Overall, a good program. You can actually see the 3d view of the model home that you're creating. Maybe I just need to upgrade my video card for a better experience.

"Excellent Program" User interface is simple yet elligant, my daughter and myself both love the program havent see any yet, maybe it is too simple to use. We installed on Vista (my daughter) and my computer running Windows 7 (mine) both laptops and run it with no problem.

Don't listen to the person who is thrashing Java. It's actually one of the better write-once run-anywhere technologies. It's a great program. I find the 3d rendering part has a lot of potential. It's using OpenGL which is the only cross-platform graphics API. For a free program, this is a pearl. Don't object Java, it's useful and not such a big deal as the previous poster thinks it is. He should get off his lazy a** (figure of speech) and just download+install it.

I find it a lot better than the Seirra home builder and easiier to use. The graphics are better None so far

Simple to use. Good range of wall and furniture choices. Couldn't get it to print a scale on the hardcopy.

I can do anything i want with this program, it's the best architecture program you can get for free. I love this program. plus, there's a website dedicated to people using the program, with new 3D models, forums, troubleshooting. can't do multi-level houses, but i think their talking about it for a coming version. worth getting this program anyway download it, its worth it.

It was easy to use and rendered my floorplan well. I liked being able to resize furniture objects and the split-pane view between 2d and 3d which allowed me to work in both planes at the same time. Significantly easier to use than Google Sketch-it I would have liked a snap to wall feature and more furniture options. Also would have liked to be able to create several floors in one plan. Good product and did the job I wanted with ease. The limitations can be overlooked since this is a free open-source program.

I have Mac OS X and run it on it.Works pretty well for now. The graphics are not that good... ..but still it is a very useful program and it's easy to use.

Allows 3d and 2d layouts, precise measurements and angles and even basic furnishing to help keep perspective on space necessities. None really.

It's free, and it does seem like it would be fun to use (despite how tedious the controls are - but hey, it's free). After importing two pieces of furniture, each time I open the program and open my file, the program shuts down. As a result, I had to uninstall it. Also, the colors it shows are not true to RGB or hex values, which was disappointing. Had to uninstall it because of some glitch that kept shutting it down. Very disappointed. That kind of bug kind of shook my faith in the program - now I'm going to go back to a restore point, to make sure it didn't mess up my computer. Very disappointed. :-(Even when it was working - be ready for a learning curve - it's pretty tedious at times. But, for free, I would have kept it - too bad it kept crashing and shutting down. Until they fix that, I'd say look elsewhere.

Sorry bopb99, Java is crap for anything which uses a GUI. It is only usable for business apps unsing Java EE. SH3D itself is a (maybe the only one) real "(no IDE) application" which is written in Java and works fine. I never saw a Java app which runs flawless like a native compiled one. Also in SH3D you can detect Java issues sometimes. But performace is okay for use. Nevertheless I use the application for years. There is no other free application available which does the same. Emmanuel Puybaret does a great job. *thumbs up*

Rock solid, easy to use, used all of my three cores when rendering 3D movie walkthrough. Comes with furniture, etc. Superb! I wish it had more furniture and symbols and that it could also do the landscape, this is meant for interior design. Freaking awesome software, I can't believe it is free, this is better than some paid home modeling software I have used. Kudos to the program(s) who have worked on this. I am thoroughly impressed. WOW! And no I don't know the programmers. This is a legit review. I created a mock-up of my garage conversion project in one hour and am creating a 3D walkthrough movie as I type. Very nice.

I'M DECORATING A SIMPLE 1200 SQ FOOT APARTMENT AND THIS IS HELPING SO MUCH YOU CAN PAINT THE WALLS PUT INFURNITURE, WINDOWS, ART, DISHWASHER LIKE EVERYTHING. I'M HAPPY WITH IT AND ONLY TINKERING FOR AN HOUR. I LOVE IT. HAVEN'T FOUND ANY YET BUT I SURE ITS MINIMAL MORE LIKE IF YOU WANT SOMETHING SPECIFIC AND ITS NOT INCLUDED BUT AS A BASE PROGRAM THEY DID A GOOD JOB. GET IT. DOWNLOAD IT. IT'S REALLY WORTH A LOOK AND YOU'LL KNOW IN AN HOUR OR LESS IF YOU WANT TO KEEP IT LONG TERM.
