No question, the application is very well done and everything but 'out of development'. For functionality, the work on it, the highly motivated team, which go on working on the project - although hit by severe backstrokes of corrupt 'team' members in the past I give a clear * * * * *. But... in times, when more and more people I know are sued by so called 'copyright owners' I will use Shareaza in the foreseeable future only for very few items like some Linux files. Moreover I'll wait for applications like Mute and Kommute. As long as no such software is available, file sharing is dead to me. Folks, I don't waste my hard earned money to sponsor a sick system of information prohibition, so called 'intellectual ownership' and all those < v u l t u r e s > who make their profit relying on them. As long as people are stupid enough to pay 1 € for a piece of music in mp3 (which is - BTW - everything but the quality of a CD... and therefore significantly more expensive, not to say daylight robbery) this situation will become more and more extreme. The only solution is to boycot all those one, who do their best to escalate the actual situation. I'm no media junkie and I < c a n > live without something, which is simply used to rake in money. And the best thing: Most of those 'artists' seem to forget, that 'art' isn't derived from < a r t i f i c i a l > and doesn't exist simply to make them 'rich'. So once again a * * * * * for Shareaza and a censored comment to you VULTURES!

For data and non torrent stuff, I've tried many alternatives such as Limewire, Frostwire, etc. but this thing connects to 3 networks instead of just one and is the best one I've used. There's another version that's fake. Shareaza is not very good when it comes to torrents. Get this and combine with PeerBlock for protection against companies and spam. Also, be careful where you download this from. Make sure you get it from sourceforge because there's a suckier version lurking around. I'm sure that's why most people here gave it a low rating.

This is the best P2P program out there at the moment. Has all the features you could possibly need. No Java required, a big plus. The GUI is a little busy, and that's my only complaint, just a minor one. Too bad this program is out of development. I suggest contacting the developer and encouraging him to continue development. Rating: 4.5/5

"It's a good program I can download my music from." I can get almost any song I'm looking for. I can't get every single song I look for in the format I want it.

"still sucks" it uninstalled fairly smoothly, and I suppose suicidal shut-ins may like the ridiculous chat feature. boatloads of bad porn if you like tranny sex bit torrent/vuze is the file sharing utility with actual content to download, this is garbage, and its buggy to boot. program constantly whines about firewalls, and chat moderator is a gay nazi still the worst P2P utility available.^^goto:/cerberus@goatsex.org/farmpics

The program is a good program, connects to 3 different P2P networks, and has large range of files. It used to be light and functional. It automatically adds your My Documents folder to share. It automatically starts hashing of your My Documents folder Buttons become non-functional because of the hashing. It AUTOMATICALLY adds your My Documents folder to the shared folder list. Why? I always had the impression the My Documents folder is a private folder with personal and work files. Nothing to be shared there... Then I try to remove it, but the hashing has already begun, and it seems to use up 100% of the CPU (Pentium 4 Prescott 3GHz). So the buttons in Shareaza become not functional (because there's no CPU left). Boy what a mess... So now I am uninstalling it and re-installing version 2.4.0.0 Version 2.5 is a disappointment

"Excellent, no problems" Works smoother, with a better interface than Lime Wire. Has access to Gutella2 and eDonkey, so has a larger variety to choose from. Nothing so far. Lime Wire and MP3 rocket are dead to me!

"this is the best p2p program of them all!" its adware/spyware free, its finds more stuff & handles incredibly. I love this program! I can find anything with this program. Im using windows 2000 and the latest 2.4 doesnt work perfectly, so I went to their archive and downloaded 2.31 and it works great.

"Utterly Ridiculous" None so far! This piece of crap never downloads a thing! Every file I have ever tried to retrieve just sits it pending status forever! I don't know why people give this product such a good rating because my experiences with it have been nothing less than pathetic!

"Thumbs up!" Nice layout, clean lines, fairly fast. perhaps a little tough to find out where its placing the files. Onec you get where things are at it is enjoyable. I've tried Limewire, Kazza and this out preforms them hands down.

"good if you like bad porn" I suppose the chat feature may appeal to suicidal shut-ins it messes with your system,is slow as hell unless you can make it stop whining about firewalls, the only content is porn, and from the filenames I saw bad porn at that for people who haven't tried eMule or, better yet BitTorrent/Vuze cerberusfarmpics@goatsex.org ## hi cerberus u dick

"2.4.0.0. Shareaza" Works very well. Shareaza is one of the best P2P today - It is my favorite. It contains no malware. It causes no system problems. It may have a problem with your hardware firewall, but the fix (Port Forwarding) is described well.

"Works very well" It finds a good amount of files very fast and downloads them quickly also I wish there was some button to repeat a specific search and to give priority to certain files. Other than that, I'm happy with it : ) Download it. It works.

Shareaza has a large variety of files thanks to it's multi-network connection protocol G2, G1, eDonkey, etc. Large quantity of peers. Extensive search filters, and informative on downloads. Extensive options, and settings. The file organization in the program is quite terrible. I believe the library is incredibly over done, and is far reaching. Simply too many folders, and subfolders, and actually makes the program more unattractive. Shareaza gives good amount of informative data on each download to make a informed decision in which download to pursue such as in quality, speed, file size, peers, etc. Overall Shareaza gets the job down.
