AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive, allowing you then to backup the movie using a DVD backup tool such as CloneDVD and CloneDVD mobile. You can also remove the RPC region code, thereby making the movie region free and viewable on any DVD player and with any DVD player software. It is capable of removing unwanted movie features, including subtitles and prohibition messages such as copyright and FBI warnings. It also allows you to launch an external application whenever you insert or remove a disc, or prevent 'PC-friendly' software from automatically launching when you insert a video DVD.Decryption is not all that AnyDVD offers. You can control the drive speed of your DVD drive, allowing you to reduce the noise level when watching movies on your PC. You can even adjust the display frequency of your monitor for both NTSC and PAL displays. It also decrypts protected audio CDs to allow you to copy them.

After reading reviews and seeing that the only negitives came many times from the same people.I downloaded the 21day trial. Glad I did,THANKS.Just got the new movie 2012 and after using AnyDVD to open it(about 10 sec)I was able to use DVD Shrink3.2(free download) to copy it.Dvd shrink needs help with alot of newer dvds these days and AnyDVD actually let this old program do its job, wow! I will most likely buy it.Little ones are hard on Disney movies.I don't like re-buying anything,so I copy them and save the original.I'll try a couple more, but I would pay a good price if it works on everything.

In view of Catchpole's & Dudeboyz incessant rants re cost of ownership have checked purchase price for lifetime upgrades. Initial purchase, July 2006 AUD37.00 for Anydvd standard & Dec 2009 lifetime upgrade for HD/BDD AUD19.00. Hence their comments seem somewhat redundant. This app simply just works, support is great and their constant updates to circumvent the latest protection is wonderful. @Catchpole, I'd like to know what the free alternatives you constantly refer to are, as none I have ever used work anywhere as well as this, unless of course you need plenty of coasters.

As usual, works as advertised, dispite the naysayers.

Yes it's incredibly expensive, but at least it works, and it doesn't make me waste hours of my time like the freeware crap does. I values my times and I pays my moneys. Or whatever.

I don't have to waste any time with the freeware that i use.

Come on now - stop the accusations - just rip or praise the PRODUCT not each other, and the world will be a better place. :) Incredibly expensive, not the most stable and compatible. Makes your choices and takes your chances...

Same as always has been..the very best of it's kind. Catchpole and his other aliases is just mad because he wants to promote a different product. It has nothing to do with how well this product performs. If it was he would rate it higher than a 1. The rest of us won't let a great product be run down falsely.

Longtime DVD version user just stared using the HD version for Blu-Ray discs and it's been perfect. Top notch product that still pumps out updates regularly.

Catchpole, that's because you want to destroy the program rating, but all users of AnyDVD agree that this app derserves the full 5 stars, Most would even rate it 10 stars if they could. Sorry, but your struggle to denigrate AnyDVD isn't working because your vision is wrong, and your own alternative ain't even worth downloading in the first place.

5 stars on main page, but still votes are 4.3?

Continues to be the only tool which handles BRD and can break just about any protection that is covered by the format. This is one of those tools which, while expensive, cannot be matched in features or ease of use by another other product in the realm.

Does what it says, keeps the pace with ever changing protections, works smoothly... a must have!

The links in the post below are spam. They're from a company called Daniusoft that publishes no postal address or phone number and which charges $35+ a piece for rubbish software that doesn't work. There's more information here on how the Daniusoft scam operates: http://oncallnerd.com/blog-spam-hunt/

rickbtx, That's because no matter how many reviews you write, the rating only counts once. AnyDVD coupled with IMGBurn yields DVD9 copies with the original layer break. No muss, no fuss. Just configure IMGBurn to use the ElbyCDIO interface under the I/O settings. Using DVDDecrypter works, too. Just turn off DVDDecrypter's built in decryption and protection removal features to rip MPEG2 streams from DVDs (IFO mode).
