AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive, allowing you then to backup the movie using a DVD backup tool such as CloneDVD and CloneDVD mobile. You can also remove the RPC region code, thereby making the movie region free and viewable on any DVD player and with any DVD player software. It is capable of removing unwanted movie features, including subtitles and prohibition messages such as copyright and FBI warnings. It also allows you to launch an external application whenever you insert or remove a disc, or prevent 'PC-friendly' software from automatically launching when you insert a video DVD.Decryption is not all that AnyDVD offers. You can control the drive speed of your DVD drive, allowing you to reduce the noise level when watching movies on your PC. You can even adjust the display frequency of your monitor for both NTSC and PAL displays. It also decrypts protected audio CDs to allow you to copy them.

6.4.4 was just released which fixes quite a few issues. This product continues to improve in quality. Always good to see what these guys add to this program.

I'll keep this brief. Never had a problem with AnyDVD. I would like to see some menu/window items re-worded or layed out differntly but it pales comparison to the value of the program. Give it a try for 21 days and you too will purchase it.

CharlieGimbert: There is a reason why you were banned and all of the posts from your multiple fake accounts were deleted. If you don't behave, you will get banned again. Simple. You don't use AnyDVD, you're just a troll. Stop posting fake reviews and stop harassing other people.

Charlie Gimbert is a fool who hasn't a clue to which he refers. Slysoft is a very reputable company operating out of Barbados for which the WTO has officially granted an exemption from the copyright laws! Buy , download and enjoy. You are responsible for your use of the product. So evidently ole Charlie is up to no good. But it can be used to edit any feature out of a copy, be it the promos, menus, etc as well as any region of copyguard. An EXCELLENT suite of products! One of the few products that meets or exceeds all of their claims in every regard!

SlySoft is a terrific company with fantastic products and great support and a very active well supported user forum. The only troll here is GilbertGrape - the paranoid wacko posting dispersions on a great product and company.

The new BD+ protection is taken care of and an apparent new AACS protection as well as numerous other fixes for SD DVDs. Nice work, Slysoft!

Just a small fix. I never encountered the issue. Same old wonderful AnyDVD.

Continually updated for all new protections. This is by far the single most useful program on my PC. I love being able to remove protections from my BRD's without having to do anything. Just insert the disc, and it works. Top notch!

Just experienced a rather unusual bug where the disc did not jump directly to the main movie but instead to the special features menu on 27 dresses. Not a show stopper, but a bug none-the-less which has been reported to slysoft via their support email system. 4/5 for a minor annoyance.

Issue resolved. Thank you to the slysoft staff for your prompt resolution of this bug. 5/5 for the best Optical Disc digital restriction management removal software on the net.

Still shows incompatibilities with In CD. In CD used to work no problem with this app, but they broke it and never fixed it. Not acceptable in an app that has become as expensive as this one has.

They have not fixed that In CD problem, even though this is a non-beta release. The bug has been reported to them numerous times, yet even though they have indicated that they know about the bug and intended to correct it. This is an expensive retail application and the fact that they continue to drop the ball should not be acceptable to anyone who owns their product.

Another fine update. Use this if you are looking for an application which lets you use any program to rip the DVD without any sort of intervention. I use it primarily for viewing and the removal of annoyances in the viewing process. That, and I get all updates for free! Yes, I had to pay for BRD support, but it is a new technology and a new protection system completely different from DVD. Either way, the DVD portion still works better than any other product on the market. The bluray portion works better than any other product as well but its not that hard to do so when there are very few other products can even begin to compete with it or its feature set.

As I said, this continues to work very well. It does what it says, does it without me doing anything other than throwing a disc in my drive, and it has had a total of 2 failures on me in the 3 years I've owned the product. Highly recommended.

Score of 1 for much the same reasons as I have stated earlier. Having tested this release with In CD from the latest Nero, sadly, AnyDVD still does not work without conflict. I simply do not see how a program this expensive, that also requires even more money to work with HD DVD and Blu-Ray, continues to have such a major flaw. It has been reported ad nauseam by myself and other AnyDVD users, yet it still goes uncorrected. If Slysoft would simply address a few key issues that exist with their currenet releases, including problems with In CD and Direct CD, I think it would merit a higher score, even though it is quite costly. If this was the only program that provided the ability to rip purchased disks for personal use, perhaps I would feel comfortable scoring it higher even with this egregious incompatibility. But the simple fact that there is a 100% free application that can rip purchased disks for personal use and remove all protections not only from standard DVD products, but from higher capacity offerings like HD DVD and Blu Ray as well, and does not suffer from any of the compatibility issues that plague AnyDVD, creates a situation where it is nearly impossible to recommend AnyDVD to anyone on a cost to benefit ratio alone. AnyDVD just isn't a good value when compared to what other apps may be out there, and that fact cannot and should not be overlooked. If devoted users of AnyDVD that wish to see it become a stronger offering would emphasize the need to correct this flaw (and any others they are aware of) directly to Slysoft, perhaps that would be a more constructive use of their time. Instead of working so hard to stamp out any criticisms of AnyDVD, please, consider taking some of that intensity and redirecting it towards that effort. The harder Slysoft and supporters work to eliminate these nagging flaws, the harder it will be for anyone, including myself, to fairly criticize the product, high cost or no. If Slysoft finally did fix most of thes

Major problems with anydvd
Rated 50/50 by wat0114 at Jul 31, 2008
catchpole, those "major problems" might be...? At least DudeBoyz thoroughly validates his criticism of the product, going to great lengths providing details, though I still to this day can not fathom why someone who, over the years, rates a product, at best, an average score of 1.5 - slamming it in the process - continues to use it, rather than the competitive one he always raves about. Anyways, this is still a terrific product. Does exactly as advertised.
